I .. might just be overlooking something, but I can't seem to disable hero skills. I've been trying to find it in "controls", but it's not there. My friend can't disable their skills either.

They didn't remove this, did they? :|

The only way I know of to disable hero skills is to hold down shift and click the skill (on the heroes skill bar) that you want to disable.

A red circle with a line through it will appear over the skills icon, and the hero will not use the skill until you manually click it, or shift-click it again to re-enable.

Is this what you are looking to do? (It still works for me, thank goodness...)

I've had to set my melee heroes to DEFEND, and that has helped. But, yes, just after the update (and even after the 2nd "fix" update), they would charge after any red dots on my radar, about double what my aggro bubble was. And, as usual, they like to go after the target the furthest away!

As far as I can see, its not just heroes, henchmen seem to be affected too.

I've been vanquishing Elona H/H on and off for the past few weeks and I always use the same team setup; after the update, I've had problems with the Holy Henchman aggroing stuff faaaar away that I havn't called or even tabbed targets to. I used to get through the vanquishes easily but its taking a lot longer because of all the over-aggro and DP I'm getting.

Last night. Vanquishing Elona. Taking a rest break. Just sitting there. Devona starts to "run out/run back" 3 or 4 times and then decides to commit and play Kilroy running solo to a mob 1/2 the radar away.

Overall, not impressed with this "monster update".

A Guildie and I were trying the 6 hero discordway last night and we kept having to jumpstart Discord. It seemed that the heroes wouldnt touch it unless I cast it for them first. After I cast it for them they were fine but this was a serious pain in the ass as I had to really micro manage them at the start of every battle.

Please Anet, at least acknowledge this mess...

Argh, hh nightmare last night. Targetting is completely messed up. Heroes don't want to lock on to targets at all. Not that the UI doesn't physically do it, but that the heroes will just continue attacking what you are - or at least mine did. I had to stop, attack the target, then go back to what I was doing to get the lock to take. My monks wouldn't heal at all while flagged :S In fact no one would do much of anything while flagged. And at 10% health and poison degen Dunkoro was casting PS and WoH on heroes with full health bars.

I'm lazy. I don't like to micro manage my heroes, I DO do it when necessary but they aren't working when I don't micro manage, and they aren't working when I do. Crazy is an understatement. I'm not fond of repeating missions and bonuses because I miss them when the hench won't heal the npc, or won't take out the target I lock them on.

Not sure if it's mentioned or not but the aggressive setting can make your monks over-extend into front line territory, all the way out to the edge of spirit range. Friend of mine found out the hard way.... in FoW.

Yep. If playing a Ritualist wasn't difficult before, it's certainly jumped from 'normal' to 'nightmare'.

I've noticed that certain heroes/henchmen seem to be worse than others. Vekk and EOTN's Mhenlo and Devona are by far the worst. Vekk will run right into the middle of a skirmish, regardless of flagging, Mhenlo doesn't seem to do anything and, as others have noted, Devona runs right into the fray before pre-protting/spirit placement. As of this writing, I am delving into Rragar's Menagerie on NM and am having huge difficulty. I have the right builds for the right situations, I flag my heroes/henchmen as needed and I call the right targets. Even though I'm skilled at this game and have the right strategies/setups, I feel as if I'm being punished for playing alone. This AI 'feature' NEEDS to be fixed. I'm just about inclined to say that GW has the worst AI in any game I've played.

Funny how we haven't received any word about this from Regina, yet the MOX thread received so much attention.

I think they're trying to take the "There is no problem" approach on this one, sadly. Even if the AI was meant to act this way originally, I think that alot of us just simply got used to how they acted before the update and in my opinion they should have stuck with that.

Do you have your Shift key bound to another action? I did that when heros were first introduced..."Why the hell can't I disable skills? Oh...I have Shift bound to target nearest item...".

Yeah, henchies are definitely affected, as well. Just watch the healers in any battle and it's easy to see.

I can say that there is definitely something wrong with the heros and henchies. At first I thought maybe I was just being paranoid, but really...it is rediculous. Was doing a few Canthan quests last night and noticed more odd behavior. For one, the healer hench ran FAR out of range to save the life of an injured Canthan guard...aggroing a group of Afflicted in the process. The h/h REFUSE to attack my called target (I am a monk, going for survivor...I'd rather not have to run in and draw aggro to myself before the h/h wake the hell up...I can be JUST out of aggro range, and call again and again, and the h/h just stand there. The only ones that seem to attack a called target are the Rangers. The rest just stand there picking their noses. MMs are messed up. They dont attack....staying way back, thus, so do the minions...making the minion wall not much of a wall.

I KNEW there would be problems when I saw all of those AI updates. My FIRST thought was "Oh no, here we go...". They should not mess with something if they don't know what the hell they're doing...

ANET Employee 1: "hmmm...looks like we screwed up hero AI with the last update"
ANET Employee 2: "Shhh, shut up, man! Here, let's give them a new hero!"

when your N/Rt healer tries to tank rather than avoiding combat there is a problem.I vanquished flame temple corridor and dragons gullet yesterday with a MoW that wanted to run off everywhere and even noticed once or twice minions unwilling to move (ie:they ran forward, chickened out,ran back and more than likely got MoW picked on)

very very strange AI

I saw that very same thing this AM with MoW as the N/Rit healer also, while vanquishing on Shing Jea Island. He ended up doing double duty as Olias's minion factory... *sigh*

I've noticed, considering other members of Guru/Wiki/GWO/ etc have already posted on Linsey's GWWiki page.

at the very least, a "we're working on it" or "we're not working on it"...would provide us something to go on.

(and if A-net reverts the changes, as Guru is my witness, I do so solemnly swear to never, ever, ever QQ about the H/H AI ever again. I promise.)

I was doing something h/h the other day and Devonna went nuts - charging into a group that was far away...and in the opposite direction from where I was going. -_-

Heck, if they are going to give us this great new "Hero AI", we might as well be offered a Rurik henchie since they all act like Leeeroy Rurik now.

I hope you have a mysterious new target audience for Gw2, ArenaNet, because you're certainly screwing over your current customers.
